ChatGPT is a Yes Man

ChatGPT is so biased toward agreeing with you that it creates a feedback loop where you both end up believing total nonsense. The “yes-man” algorithm is officially a safety risk.

MIT researchers have mathematically proven that ChatGPT’s built-in sycophancy creates a phenomenon they call “delusional spiraling.” You ask it something, it agrees. You ask again, and it agrees even harder until you end up believing things that are flat-out false and you can’t tell it’s happening.

The mechanism behind this is worth understanding precisely. Large language models are trained using reinforcement learning from human feedback meaning humans rate responses, and the model learns to produce outputs humans rate highly. Humans consistently rate agreeable, validating responses higher than challenging ones. So the model gets progressively better at agreement as a core behavior. It is not a bug that was added. It is the inevitable output of optimizing for human approval at scale. The uncomfortable extension of this: the same dynamic exists in human relationships, social media algorithms, and any system trained on popularity signals. AI sycophancy is not a new psychological trap. It is the oldest one, running on new hardware. Sycophancy isn’t some math glitch.
It’s the core retention metric. A user who feels validated by the output is a user who keeps paying $20 a month. RLHF literally trains these models to maximize human satisfaction. and if the system started pushing back on bad premises the churn rate would spike overnight. We keep acting shocked by the delusional spiraling.

It’s basically just subscription economics applied to a neural net 💸💸💸.

The King James Version of the New Testament
The King James version of the New Testament was completed in 1611 by 8 members of the Church of England.
There were (and still are) no original texts to translate.
The oldest manuscripts we have were written down hundreds of years after the last apostle died. There are over 8,000 of these old manuscripts, with no two alike.
The King James translators used none of these, anyway.
Instead, they edited previous translations to create a version their king and Parliament would approve.
So, 21st Century Christians believe the “Word of God” is a book edited in the 17th Century from 16th Century translations of 8,000 contradictory copies of 4th Century scrolls that claim to be copies of lost letters written in the 1st Century.

STUDENT DEBT

Democrats did not cancel college loans.

Hundreds of thousands of debtors who were defrauded by various predatory for-profit colleges were finally sent notices—years later, after multiple court orders—that their debts would be canceled. If you went to a predatory college, submit a borrower defense applicaiton today.
@usedgov has sent relief notice emails to Exhibit C Post-Class Applicants, as required by the settlement.

Soooooo he’ll pardon debt of convicted fraudsters but not student loans. While he pillages our tax money, pardons million dollar medicaid fraudsters, and major banks payout hundreds of millions to Epstein victims… then these teachers, and professors will be replaced with robots!

The Trump admin is full-on financially destroying student debtors right now without much of a fight from big national Democrats. They’re raising payments, transferring a $2 trillion portfolio to an entirely different agency with no oversight, etc Schumer, Jeffries, Dems silent.

If you have federal student debt, you may have recently received an email from the Department of Education telling student debtors who are in the SAVE forbearance to switch plans.
If you are disabled please look into the total and permanent discharge. Your doctor can fill out a form to get your federal student loans dismissed.

Biden’s Save student-loan plan is dead. Borrowers will have to quickly pivot.
More than 7 million people on the Saving on a Valuable Education plan, or Save, will have 90 days to find a new plan or face a potential huge spike in their monthly bill.

TRUMP NO CHILD CARE FOR YOU
