Albanian authorities froze $148 million in coastal land assets connected to Jared Kushner’s planned luxury resort.
Albania’s Special Prosecutor’s Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime demanded 20 arrests on June 13, 2026, following a major international cocaine trafficking and money laundering investigation.
The accompanying court order seized over $148 million in real estate assets from a local firm called Albania Land Development. This specific company previously bought the coastal parcels in Zvërnec earmarked for a massive tourism project envisioned by American developer Jared Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump. Outraged local citizens reacted immediately.
Around 200 demonstrators marched to the protected beach area and physically tore down the metal and razor-wire security fences enclosing the site. Protester Eden Hosha told reporters that citizens are tired of officials selling off national public resources.
