If you’ve followed me for a while you will know that this is an animation of the work of my FAVOURITE 19thC artist, Luis Falero, and every Halloween I tell his story, because I love it.

Falero was obsessed with astronomy, and this led him to illustrate the works of Camille Flammarion (who had an EPIC name, and if anyone has an original copy of Uranie, let me know). We can see Flammarion’s influence in Falero’s own work, like this from 1883
