A reminder that Democrats are devoted to making sure that the wages you earn doing actual work are taxed at a far higher rate than the passive income rich people make in their sleep doing literally nothing.

The family that operates the competing old bridge, earlier this year, made a $1 million donation to Donald Trump’s super pac. In short order, a member of that family then got an in person meeting with Trump’s Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. The White House and the pac say that was just a coincidence…but after the million dollar donation, he gets this meeting, and then the SAME day of the meeting, Howard Lutnick calls President Donald Trump and then Trump suddenly discovers new supposedly trade-related reasons why he’s now suddenly against this bridge.

1st amendment arrests have begun in Minnesota, now anyone who disagrees with any part of what ICE is doing can be detained. This administration will stop at nothing until they fully control what free speech is.

Federal prosecutors have charged 15 Minnesotans for conspiracy to impede or injure immigration officers in Minneapolis earlier this year during President Trump’s so-called Operation Metro Surge. The indictment has linked the defendants to anti-fascist or “antifa” groups. Trump last year categorized “antifa” as a “domestic terror organization” — even though it is not an actual group. “The conspiracy [charge] is really an attempt to broaden the net of federal law enforcement and to expand the ability of the federal government to target our movement and to foster repression,” says attorney Bruce Nestor, who represents one of the 15 defendants.

Rethuglican DOE Sec. Chris Wright said that his agency did not aim to punish states that Trump lost the 2024 election in when it canceled clean energy projects in them. BUT his lawyers said otherwise—causing a judge to order the grants be restored.

The House Judiciary minority says Patel has handed out more than $1 million in “bonus” payments to agents on his Director’s Advisory Team and his security detail. The letter calls it a personal slush fund.

Here’s the mechanism. Federal pay is capped by statute. The letter alleges Patel routed money around that cap. Nearly $8,000 per agent, every two-week pay period. Some collected five in a row. Roughly $40,000 each.

Then the accounts ran dry. Raskin says some of the payments bounced.

Who got paid? The letter points to the unit NOTUS reported as the “Payback Squad.” And it ties the cash to silence, alleging agents were polygraphed over whether they helped cover up Patel’s drinking.

The agents he fired include an FBI Medal of Valor recipient, the official who led the Jan 6 law enforcement response, a Marine combat veteran cut weeks after his wife died of cancer, and a counterintelligence unit that tracked Iranian threats. Reward the loyal. Purge the rest.

Raskin wants every bonus, every authorization, and every legal memo on whether this broke federal law. Deadline June 29.

Yvon Chouinard, the founder of Patagonia, has made the planet itself the sole beneficiary and effective “shareholder” of his company.

In an extraordinary move that redefined corporate ownership, Chouinard transferred full control of the $3 billion outdoor apparel brand away from his family. He placed 100% of the company into a carefully designed structure consisting of a trust and a nonprofit organization, both dedicated to combating the climate crisis and protecting the natural world.

Under this new arrangement, the Chouinard family gave up any claim to personal profits. Instead, all earnings not reinvested in growing the business—roughly $100 million each year—now flow directly to environmental causes, funding the preservation of wild lands, conservation efforts, and initiatives to fight climate change.

In essence, Patagonia now exists to serve Earth as its only true shareholder, placing planetary survival above the accumulation of private wealth.

The model has already delivered significant results. As of 2025, the company had channeled an additional $180 million into nature-protection projects. The structure relies on two key entities: the Patagonia Purpose Trust, which safeguards the company’s original mission and values, and the Holdfast Collective, a nonprofit that directs the profits toward high-impact environmental work.

Rather than selling the business to the highest bidder or taking it public, Chouinard chose this radical path—creating what many see as a groundbreaking template for purpose-driven capitalism. Patagonia has shown that a for-profit company can become a powerful force for ecological restoration while remaining financially successful.
