Infrastructure shouldn’t be the priority over voting rights

A visionary of our time.

Hal Finney sent this email only days after #Bitcoin was created.

A coin had no value whatsoever, they were still worth $0.00 for a entire year after this.

Infrastructure shouldn’t be the priority over voting rights.

@joebiden’s highly anticipated #VotingRights speech.

POLITICS

“Mitch McConnell already created an exception to the filibuster to confirm 3 Supreme Court justices for Donald Trump. He already broke the Senate”
“Senate Republicans have exploited arcane rules to block these bills. And let us be clear…nowhere does the Constitution give a minority the right to unilaterally block legislation.”

“The Senate is already broken, the question is what to do about it.” The Senate is facing pressure to change filibuster rules to pass voting rights legislation, but Sen. McConnell warns of retribution. @AriBerman talks to @KatyTurNBC about what’s next for Senate democrats.

Why isn’t every reporter asking every Republican Senator if they would have voted for the Voting Rights Act in 1965?

Without Sarah Palin we would have no Lauren Boebert, no MTG, and a lot more national dignity.

Manafort banker convicted in bribery scheme. A federal jury found Chicago bank CEO Stephen Calk guilty of trying to trade $16 million in loans for a Trump administration post.

We voted to gain political power, and we’re getting excuses about what cannot be accomplished. We always have billions for DoD & LEO but none for healthcare, housing & education.

Dozens of books written by Black authors are being pulled from school libraries under the pretext that they’re teaching critical race theory. Most of the books don’t teach critical race theory but are written by and about people of color.

New York City now has a Black woman as police commissioner and a Black former cop as mayor. Making sure figure heads of oppression look like the oppressed has always been a tool these systems have used.

@BreeNewsome
IF DEMOCRATS are saying they can’t address the Republican assault on free & fair elections, then why is anyone telling folks to vote in the next election when the outcome is predetermined? Voters demanding more from Dems are not the ones dooming us to Trump pt 2, the Dems are.

I’ve been saying for some time the establishment’s goal is not to achieve multiracial democracy but to preserve the traditional bipartisan white power structure. That’s evident in how they can hold an emergency session on “bipartisan infrastructure” but not on voting or evictions
Hesitation to eliminate the filibuster is not about fear of what GOP does if they take control but b/c they know removing it furthers weakens the ruling white elite’s grip on power. It removes any excuse against passing voting rights & other things they pretend to support.

This moment is really showing how the political establishment has co-opted the imagery & symbolism of the 1960s Civil Rights Movement without ever truly embracing its aims.

The establishment is always rattled when they expect certain people to wrangle Black & brown folks in line & that doesn’t happen. That’s what’s happening right now with the Biden admin’s hollow photo op in GA
It’s not like you have to convince Americans to support voting rights or Build Back Better. They already do. This is literally about how the dominant political party is using the filibuster as an excuse to not enact legislation that addresses racial & economic inequality.

They made an exception with the filibuster for the debt ceiling because that’s something they agree with. Their refusal to do the same for voting rights is simply because they don’t support voting rights. They’d rather risk a Trump dictatorship than allow multiracial democracy.

I look forward to watching the award winning documentary someone makes one day examining the racial dynamics of Biden’s political career & how the fumbling of voting rights under his presidency was a logical conclusion for a political figure associated w/ white appeasement.

Biden’s foolhardy fixation w/ restoring “bipartisanship” has yielded exactly what such an agenda would yield: a hard infrastructure bill that is presented as “bipartisan”—so Republican Party can get credit even tho few supported it—& abandonment of his key constituencies.//

Former RVAT star @RonFilipkowski has taken it upon himself to monitoring the right-wing media ecosystem and he offers a brutal wake-up call for the Democrats who, from his vantage point, lack “any real coordinated effort to counter” it.

THIEVES

On a hot mic, Dr. Fauci is heard saying, “What a moron, Jesus Christ” after a heated exchange with GOP Sen. Roger Marshall

At a Senate hearing Tuesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that false accusations from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) have led to death threats against him: “I have threats upon my life,” Fauci said, “harassment of my family and my children with obscene phone calls.”

RAND PAUL MAKES MONEY OFF OF THE PANDEMIC Fauci hands Rand Paul his ass. The idiot is so trapped in his ego, he probably doesn’t even know how embarrassed he should be.

“You’re so misinformed, it’s extraordinary … what are you talking about” — Fauci to Roger Marshall

@RobertMaguire_ I know most people don’t pull financial disclosures much or at all, but I can assure you, as someone who does routinely, this exchange is hilarious, and Roger Marshall’s constituents should be alarmed at the ineptitude of the senator and his staff. Can we see Roger Marshall’s financial disclosures?

Token Vesting

If you made the tokens subject to vesting it means you don’t want people divesting of any rights or benefits of them until they are fully vested.
– Vested (team / investor) Tokens Locked within Tradable NFTs
Just one use case that @DefiNft enables. Called “Vesting Capsules” are NFTs, filled with time-locked ERC-20 (or 721/1155) tokens. A Vesting Capsule (NFT) can be transferred or even traded on NFT Marketplaces (e.g. @opensea @rarible @LooksRareNFT @universe_xyz etc) while the nested ERC-20 tokens are safely locked inside until the end of the chosen vesting period.

VESTING CAPSULES: Vested Tokens Locked within Tradable NFTs
Web3 is all about true ownership, and vesting capsules allow this to be applied for teams & investors who now can have complete sovereignty over their own token allocations from day 1>
Now with the tokens time-locked inside of a Vesting Capsule NFT, as opposed to a smart contract or wallet, it can be:
– Used as collateral for a loan
– Transferred to a new wallet
– Sold / swapped / gifted before they vest
NFTs as collateral for loans are coming. Now vested tokens can be used like the asset they are.
