  1. @SteveBellovin This! And it was routing problems that first got me interested in security, back in the mid-1980s: I saw accidental problems, and asked myself, “What would happen if someone did this intentionally?”

    Anything that can happen accidentally can happen intentionally too. BGP was a focus and forte of mine for a long time.
    I briefed congress on this in 1998.
    This is still a large problem, and not for just Facebook, with slow adoption of defenses (eg ROA/RFC3779)
    Accidents too..
