– The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner – A profound novel exploring themes of time, memory, and the decline of the Southern aristocracy.
– A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway – A classic war novel set during World War I, focusing on themes of love and war.
– All Quiet on the Western Front – The English translation by Arthur Wesley Wheen of Erich Maria Remarque’s anti-war novel, first published in German in 1929, will become public domain.
– Tintin – The character made his debut in “Les Aventures de Tintin” by Belgian cartoonist Hergé, published in the magazine Le Petit Vingtième.
– Sound Recordings from 1924 – Although not from 1929, sound recordings from this year will also enter the public domain in 2025. Examples include Gershwin’s “An American in Paris,” Ravel’s “Bolero,” and Fats Waller’s “Ain’t Misbehavin’.”
