Mongolian teen dies of bubonic plague
A 15-year-old boy has died in western Mongolia of bubonic plague after eating an infected marmot, the country’s health ministry announced.
Authorities in Mongolia have imposed a quarantine after a 15-year-old boy died of bubonic plague.
Urad Middle Banner in north China’s Inner Mongolia lifted its level IV emergency response upon bubonic plague on Sunday after 15 close contacts of a bubonic plague-infected patient tested negative and had been transferred to home isolation.
He and 2 other teens had eaten an infected marmot, a large ground squirrel.
