This is a staggering waste of taxpayer money and yet another disturbing example of the lengths some will go to keep women from having power over their own lives and futures. Contraceptives are lifechanging, lifesaving tools and one of the best ways to lift people out of poverty the world has ever seen. There are so many women who wanted and needed these supplies. There were organizations willing to buy and distribute them. What happened instead is unjustifiable.

I have been screaming to anyone who will listen that this White House plans something that will allow it to declare a state of emergency and cancel the election. What is happening in Louisiana is a dry run.

Absentee ballots were already cast. Early voting starts Saturday. Louisiana just disenfranchised voters mid-election by executive fiat. Republicans no longer care about democracy. It’s all about maintaining power and implementing project 2025.
