Cake Wallet I Implements Payjoin V2
Cake Wallet, a non-custodial, privacy-focused, and open-source mobile Bitcoin wallet, released version 4.28, bringing Payjoin V2 to its user base. Payjoin is a privacy technique that allows two users to contribute an input to a Bitcoin transaction, breaking the common chain analysis heuristic that assumes a sender owns all inputs. This makes it harder for dictators to trace payments or link the identities of activists or nonprofits. Unlike the original Payjoin, which required both the sender and recipient to be online and operate a Payjoin server, Payjoin v2 removes both barriers and introduces asynchronous transactions and serverless communication. This means users can now conduct private transactions without coordination or technical setup, making private Bitcoin transactions much more accessible and expanding the tools dissidents have to transact in the

Oslo Freedom Forum continues to spotlight Bitcoin and Freedom Tech
Oslo Freedom Forum, which is taking place in Oslo the last week of May, is for the 9th year focusing on what they call freedom technologies, headed by Bitcoin, but also focusing on other open source technologies.
Bitcoin is much more powerful as a freedom tool than 10-15 years ago, Alex @gladstein, the Chief Strategy Officer of Human Rights Foundation (@HRF) and Oslo Freedom Forum (@OsloFF ), says in a video interview with Kaupr.
When Oslo Freedom Forum takes place from the 26th to the 28th of May, probably more than 100 prominent bitcoiners will be attending. Over the years, Oslo Freedom Forum has become a meeting place between activists and people from the bitcoin and tech communities, including CEOs, developers, investors, etc.

The Trump administration has revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll international students and is forcing current international students to transfer or lose their legal status. This move is part of Trump’s campaign against the elite Ivy League university which has become one of his most prominent institutional targets.

Declining Dems for Education Reform (DFER) Seeks Salvation in MAGA Regime
Democrats for Education Reform, the front operation for billionaire privateering of public education, has gone all-in for right-wing policies. This likely reflects two factors: the collapse of DFER nationally, and an opportunistic pivot to Trump’s MAGA regime.
DFER was established upon the premise, according to its hedge fund co-founder Whitney Tilson, that it would spend lavishly as part of an “inside job” to turn the Democratic Party away from teachers unions and public education and toward charter schools.
