Mark Zuckerberg reportedly called the head of the FTC in March offering to pay $450 million to settle a case that could force Meta to sell Instagram and WhatsApp. The FTC had demanded $30 billion, but Zuckerberg thought cozying up to Trump meant he could get away with much less. As former FTC Chair Lina Khan told the Wall Street Journal, the $450 million settlement offer was “delusional.”
