Northwestern University Removes Joseph Epstein After WSJ Op-Ed on Dr Jill Biden

The controversial writer said soon to be the first lady Dr Jill Biden should drop her doctorate title as it sounded fraudulent, prompting Northwestern University to remove him

Epstein who was a lecturer at the Northwestern University, Chicago, has his profile removed from the university website. Northwestern University said Epstein was never a “tenured professor” and had not given a lecture at the university since 2002. In 1970, his article for Harper’s Magazine drew criticism for its perceived homophobia. The article titled, “Homo/Hetero: The Struggle for Sexual Identity” used the N-word to describe homosexual people while he said that he would wish homosexuality off the face of the earth if he had the power to do so.

WSJ shows us, yet again, how far they’ve fallen. Their Opinion Writers are shitty people, which can only mean the Editor is even trashier.

–WSJ rolled out an old, white, out of touch mansplainer to prove the point that the WSJ is an old, out of touch, periodical. It’s why we cancelled our subscription to @WSJ years ago.
-Doctor originates as an academic title – in the 13th century. Only more recently has it referenced medical doctors. You’re an OG. Excuse me, Dr. OG.
-Docere, Latin for “to teach” is origin of “doctor”, a title given to academics for centuries. Medical doctors, more recent usage.
-As I’ve said in a couple of related posts, the last time I heard the word “kiddo” in reference to a woman was in ‘Kill Bil.’ Didn’t end well for Bill.
-It sounds like something written for an exclusive men’s club in the 1880s.
-Northwestern kept him on faculty as long as they did since he only has a BA. He never bothered to get further degrees, in all those years? Certainly not the norm. Why is his piece even considered worthy of publishing?

– A white guy with a BA bragging about his teaching career in academia as in part justification as to why Jill Biden shouldn’t be using her doctorate in education she earned is peak white male supremacy
– @kathieallenmd I researched the degree of the author of this WSJ piece urging Dr. Jill Biden, whom he called “Kiddo” to not refer to herself as a #Doctor. She has a Ed.D degree, a doctorate in education. He has a BA degree, which he can shove up his you-know-where.
– There will most definitely be a doctor in the White House come Jan. 21st, and her name will be @DrBiden. To suggest otherwise — and to have the audacity to request that she drop her hard-earned title — is sexist and completely insulting.
