The major “news” channels stopped being news after Walter Cronkite and Sanders Van Oaker.
“News” became “Entertainment” cause ratings made money and scripted televised conventions made for entertainment advertisers and managed for sound bites that make for sensationalized headlines to sell papers.
We are just sick of it, so cord cutting is normal. “News” shows have lost their power.
Covid’s silver lining has pushed the reset button. No more bullshit conventions. No fanfare, No stupid Hats! No glossy show to distract you from the need to focus. No ABC, No CBS, No NBC, No CNN.
We cut the cord, we unplugged. Now its the internet culture. We see the indy video, the single head talking from the bedroom, or the kitchen counter. Just One talking head at a time.
America is shifting the real work of democracy onto the backs of actual citizens, who feel the need to speak their mind online.
