Federal executions resume after SCOTUS nixes injunction

Daniel Lewis Lee, who was convicted of killing a family of three, was put to death by lethal injection today as federal executions resumed after 17 years. The US Supreme Court handed down an unsigned opinion nullifying a lower court’s injunction that had put federal executions on hold amid challenges to the government’s lethal-injection protocol.
