The Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage is proud to announce that on June 26, the 115th Congress of the United States passed House Resolution 408 in honor of this milestone year for the Smithsonian Folklife Festival (established in 1967). In addition to acknowledging our collaboration with individuals, communities, and other organizations around the world and our work to promote cultural sustainability and intercultural dialogue, the House resolution also proclaims June 26 to 30, 2017, “Folk and Traditional Arts and Culture Week.”
