Governor Andy Beshear says he got calls from two different non-state agencies saying McConnell had died. This was before the “proof of life” photo was shared by McConnell’s team.
If taxpayers pay Mitch McConnell’s salary, then taxpayers deserve to know if he’s alive.
Taxpayers also pay his staff’s salaries, and they should be forced to answer this simple question, and show proof — and if they lie, they should be prosecuted.
This isn’t complicated.
He needs to start the process of replacing him. It’s now up to McConnell to prove himself.
Conspiracy to Defraud the United States (18 U.S.C. § 371): Intentionally hiding a Senator’s death alters the voting makeup of the U.S. Senate and obstructs the legal process for a governor to fill a vacant congressional seat. Hiding the death to stall political appointments or keep a Senate seat functional constitutes a major federal conspiracy. This carries a penalty of up to 5 years in federal prison.
Federal Wire / Government Fraud: If any official Senate business, votes, statements, or payroll distributions were processed using the Senator’s identity during those 47 days, the individuals involved would face multiple counts of federal fraud, carrying penalties of up to 20 years per count.
Kentucky State Criminal Penalties
If the death occurred or the body was kept within Kentucky boundaries, the state penalties outlined previously would immediately apply to his spouse or any co-conspirators:
• Abuse of a Corpse (KRS § 525.120): Keeping a body unreported for 47 days legally constitutes treating a corpse in a way that “outrages ordinary family sensibilities” (even if done by family). This is a Class D felony punishable by 1 to 5 years in prison.
• Tampering with Physical Evidence (KRS § 524.100): Intentionally concealing a body to prevent a police or coroner investigation is a Class D felony, adding another 1 to 5 years in prison.
• Failure to Notify Coroner (KRS § 72.020): Any person who finds or has possession of a body must report it immediately. Failing to do so is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail and fines.
Penalties for Local Authorities
If local or state authorities (such as aides, doctors, or staff) were aware of the death and actively participated in a cover-up, they would not only face the felony charges above but would also be charged with Official Misconduct and Misprision of a Felony (the federal crime of concealing a known felony from law enforcement).

CLARITY ACT COULD REACH SENATE FLOOR NEXT WEEK, SAYS HOUSE REP. BRYAN STEIL
House Financial Services Committee Chairman Bryan Steil said he’s optimistic the Senate will bring the CLARITY Act to the floor as soon as next week, arguing the legislation would finally provide long-awaited regulatory clarity for digital assets in the U.S.
Speaking ahead of today’s New York field hearing, Steil said the bill would establish a framework that protects consumers, distinguishes legitimate companies from bad actors, and helps attract both financial and human capital to the United States.
He also dismissed ethics-related objections, saying those concerns are another reason to pass clear digital asset rules.

Edward Snowden recommends this operating system to journalists, activists, and anyone whose computer could be used against them.
It’s called Qubes OS, and it’s free.
A Polish security researcher named Joanna Rutkowska built it.
In 2006, she walked onto a stage in Las Vegas and showed a room full of hackers something that shut the whole place up.
She had built a way to take over a computer completely, using the hardware itself, without the operating system ever noticing it happened. People called it Blue Pill.
A few years later she asked herself the opposite question. If a computer can be silently taken over like that, how do you build one that survives being attacked anyway?
Her answer was Qubes.
Instead of trusting your whole computer as one single space, Qubes splits it into many separate little computers running side by side, each one sealed off from the others. Open your banking site in one. Open a sketchy email attachment in a different one.
If the attachment turns out to carry malware, it wakes up alone in its own sealed box with nothing else to touch.
Some of those boxes are built to disappear on purpose. Open a suspicious PDF in a disposable one and the moment you close it, the whole thing gets erased and rebuilt from scratch the next time you need it, malware included.
In 2016, Snowden tweeted about it directly: “It’s what I use, and free. Nobody does VM isolation better.”
Whonix, the anonymity system built entirely around Tor, actually runs as one of the isolated boxes inside Qubes.
That’s the exact combination Snowden pairs together for the strongest privacy setup he trusts on his own hardware.

Xi Jinping just hijacked the rules of AI for the entire planet.
Today, Xi walked onto the stage at the World AI Conference in Shanghai.
It was his FIRST time attending the event in person since it launched in 2018. Heads of state do not fly in personally for a product expo.
The day before he spoke, 29 governments signed a founding charter.
It created a brand new international body called the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, with its permanent headquarters in Shanghai. China had spent a full year lining up the signatures.
UN Secretary General sat in the audience. So did the leaders of Kazakhstan, Cambodia, and Thailand, alongside representatives from more than 100 countries.
While the robots and the chips got the headlines, those 29 signatures were what really mattered.
Here’s why:
Whoever writes the rules of a technology decides who gets to win with it.
The US is leaning on export controls and voluntary safety pledges. Europe is enforcing its own AI Act.
China just built the institution that wants to set the standards for everyone else, and it put the headquarters on its own soil.
And look at who signed…
The founding members include Russia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and Laos. Together, the countries in this new bloc represent a population that dwarfs the entire G7. These are the nations that felt shut out of the AI order the West built, and Beijing just offered them a seat at a table it controls.
And Xi framed all of it as a gift to humanity. He pledged 5,000 AI training slots for developing countries.
He called on the world to “encourage open source, openness, collaboration and sharing” and warned against any nation placing its own security above everyone else’s, which is basically a shot at American chip controls.
It was a generous call for openness from the country that just created the rule-setting body and kept the headquarters for itself.
On the conference itself, more than 1,100 companies showed off over 3,000 products, including Huawei’s Atlas 950, an 8,192-chip supercomputer built to go straight at Nvidia, and what China is billing as the world’s first AI agent phone.
So while much of the West is still arguing about whether AI is a bubble, China spent this week doing something more lasting:
It started writing the rulebook, and got 29 countries to sign.

QUESTION: President Richard Nixon was way ahead in the polls! Why would he even bother to burglarize the DNC headquarters at the Watergate office complex?! ANSWER: Watergate had nothing to do with the election. Read on:
The Watergate break-in was an extension of the Plumbers operations which began in 1969 when NSC military aide Alexander Haig approached FBI Assistant Director William Sullivan about wiretapping NSC insiders to determine who was leaking secrets to the press.
But the FBI wiretaps were just one, small part of Haig’s larger Plumbers operation.
Haig also had the Joint Chiefs steal NSC documents for him in what we now known as the Moorer-Radford affair. He also had the Plumbers burglarize Daniel Ellberg’s psychoanalyst’s office. He even used those same Plumbers to hit the Chilean Embassy in Washington DC shortly before the Watergate burglary.
None of these operations had anything to do with Nixon’s reelection campaign. That’s just a cover story.
The break-in at the Chilean Embassy is key to understanding the Watergate break-in. The DNC break-in was not orchestrated to give President Nixon an electoral advantage. It was orchestrated to determine what the Democrats knew about the NSC’s plans to convert Chile to fascism. Most or all of the Burglars were experts on Salvador Allende and his ally Fidel Castro. They couldn’t care less about Richard Nixon or his election.
Though it was kept secret from the American people, the Deep State plot to convert Chile to fascism was a very big deal at the NSC in 1972. Chile was to provide a model for future fascist imperialism. (Richard Nixon’s NSC, with the help of the CIA, converted Chile to fascism on September 11, 1973.)
Chile was a huge “national security” secret. It still is, frankly. Of course they had to put blame somewhere else. And being that the Plumbers operation was apparently funded via illegal campaign cash, it was very easy to blame Nixon’s reelection committee.
But this was only the beginning. Watergate investigators eventually linked Haig to the Burglars and the JFK assassination. The more Nixon pushed back on impeachment, the bigger a threat he became to Haig. That’s why Haig arranged to have President Nixon replaced with Warren Commissioner Gerald Ford who effectively stopped all the investigations and saved Haig. But that’s a different topic.
