While I’m excited about a Strategic Reserve, I was surprised by the digital assets being contemplated. Bitcoin is the only asset that meets the bar for a store of value reserve asset. Maybe Ethereum. Digital gold and digital oil. Which mirrors America’s physical reserves of gold (Fort Knox, NY Fed, etc.) and oil (Strategic Petroleum Reserve). It’s possible other assets could make the grade in the future but it’s a very high bar. With that said, if the government happens to come into possession of other digital assets (e.g., XRP, ADA, or SOL) through seizure, forfeiture, etc. I think this type of stockpiling would be ok and it’s much different than actively acquiring these assets in the open market.

Bitcoin is the only real decentralized network, and the clear winner. Ethereum isn’t “oil” to Bitcoin’s “gold”, or a “shark” to Bitcoin’s “lion” — they compete over the same real estate.

NEW: Trump plans to sign an executive order to overtake the USPS by dissolving its leadership and placing it under his administration. This move would grant them immense power over mail-in ballots, a key target in Republican election fraud rhetoric.
