So looking through the GOP reaction to Biden’s speech, there is
endless whining claiming that it was “too political and partisan” and
“disgraceful” to repeatedly attack Trump that way, etc. They’re
(falsely) claiming that there was no outreach to Republicans. Blah
blah blah.
What really upsets them is that Biden didn’t play “nice” in the way
that the GOP expects from Democrats, while the GOP uses every dirty
trick in the book.

And the public has no idea who may have actually put up the money or provided a guaranty to support the bond. But one thing’s sure: Trump is beholden to someone for a lot of money.
The money came from Chubb. The CEO worked in Trump’s cabinet.

Fuller_Sean My guess: Trump may have someone like Elon Musk co-signing the Chubb bond, so the bank is comfortable being on the hook for the judgment. Same could happen for the bond for the AG $450M judgment.

This is an important point. Trump is beholden to someone & we don’t know who. Reporters should ask him to explain all of the details. GOP leaders should, but probably won’t be, especially concerned.

Maybe it goes something like this:
1. As we all know, an appellate judge last week lifted the prohibition on Trump using a NY bank for the bond.
2. Trump owns 90%+ of Truth Social, so in theory, since the SEC has just recently approved the Trump Media merger, he is sitting on a lot of valuable digital stock. Truth Social is a major competitor to Twitter, at least from Elon’s perspective.
3. Elon meets with Trump this week, they hash out a deal. Once Trump knows how much of the $91M he will remain on the hook for, he will sell that amount of his ownership stake in Truth Social to Elon.
4. Trump thumbs through his trusted black book of shady connections to find a suitable bonding company that will give him very favorable terms. Chubb Insurance Group is chartered in Russia, and has a NYC office. Bingo.
5. Trump puts some calls in and gets word back from the Boss that Chubb is expecting him. In the dead of night after they have long closed, Trump and Musk meet up at Chubb, entering through the back.
6. Musk co-signs on Trump’s $91M bond, and will repay the company however much is not returned to them following his appeal.
