link between Social Emotional Learning (+Data collection)

the merger of education & workforce goals, the push for Personalized Competency-Based Education, the development of the “learning economy”/blockchain technology, & Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) Scores:

The Every Student Succeeds Act (2015) opened the door for the gov’t to require states to report back to the fed government on their students’ social & emotional health .CASEL is set up as a standard bearer for all SEL programs & determine what social & emotional skills are”ideal.” CASEL sets up states to participate in a Collaborating States Initiative, influencing states to merge their workforce & education policy through an SEL lens. CASEL & partners KnowledgeWorks, ExcelinEd,Batelle for Kids & Aurora Institute get states to adopt Portrait of a Graduate.

Portrait of a Graduate is all the (mostly social & emotional) skills/competencies they want students to obtain to be ready postsecondary. That, then, sets up the framework for states to change their whole accountability system over to Personalized Competency-Based Learning.

In order to track these “competencies,” there will need to be even more digital assessments & data collection. Competencies will be checked off through digital badges, knowledge=currency, & all of students’ credentials will be held in a digital ID, along with other information.

The Internet of Education (& everything attached to it) will defragment education & employment data so gov’t agencies can know the impact made by their human capital investments & be able to make sure students are adopting the (social & emotional) skills the gov’t wants them to.

Employers will then have access to that data & can hire candidates based upon the (social emotional) skills contained in their digital wallet to boost their ESG score. This is setting us up for a social credit system that can exclude students from society based on how they think.

All of this is connected by data collection– the ability to continually track & score the “lifelong learning” of students and adults from cradle to grave.

The digitization of education, money & identification will allow all of society to be controlled by government, business & tech.
