Trust-based control structures (i.e. PoS) are fine, so long as they are built upon a power-based control structure (i.e. PoW). Trust-based control structures are systemically insecure & inegalitarian, leading to systemic abuse that can only be fixed via (indiscriminate) power.

Software systems engineering is crucial to understanding why there’s no replacement to Proof of Work.

By solving the double spend problem, Satoshi Nakamoto designed a discrete mathematical algorithm to have the same critical emergent behavior as real-world, mass-based objects: the inability to be in two “places” at once.

The only physical manifestation of ownership is the power (watts) one projects to defend one’s access to property. This means ownership = power and only PoW digital assets are truly owned.

Solving double spend allowed humans to perceive software object abstractions as equal to real-world objects that can’t be 2 places at once. But how do we achieve zero-trust & egalitarian control over those assets? Same way we do in the universe: power-based control, i.e. PoW

Bitcoin is the best example of Proof of Work.
PoW looks to be the first invention / service to actually work.
Land, Air, Sea, Space, Cyberspace = a “Cyberdome” against bots by imposing a *physically* prohibitive cost on DoS. Eventually, ALL NATIONS defend their info systems this way. Thus PoW = future of *physical* defense.

The most qualified professionals to understand & explain proof-of-work are systemic security experts. Not economists, sure as hell not financiers or monetary policy experts. Also, my thesis supervisor at MIT is the world’s leading expert in system-theoretic accident modeling and system-theoretic process analysis for safety & security design.

I most certainly did NOT request supervision from the Boston-Fed-captured MIT Crypto Initiative.
As a Space Force officer & systems engineer, I happen to know a thing about systemic security.
