Even if Trump WAS conducting official business of his presidency, he cannot use those acts to render him immune from responsibility for conduct that was CLEARLY outside the scope of his office. Immunity null and void. No way around it.

The Downfall of Dullard

So, here’s the thing: In this blistering document, the government’s attorneys meticulously dismantle the crumbling foundation of Trump’s “presidential immunity” defense like a cheap Atlantic City casino. The premise is simple, yet devastating: immunity doesn’t cover attempts to overthrow the very system that put you in office. It’s like trying to claim you were “preserving the game” after rigging it to win. Presidential duties? Not so much. Self-serving lunacy? Absolutely.

This isn’t your average court filing, it’s a legal obituary. The prosecutors lay bare how Trump’s actions to retain power were nakedly personal, not official acts of the presidency. And in case anyone needed reminding, the government takes us on a greatest-hits tour of Trump’s attempted coup, including his fantasy electoral slate, relentless badgering of Mike Pence, and outright lies about election fraud. At this point, if Trump were playing chess, he’d have already flipped the board and blamed the pieces for not bowing to his “strategic genius.”

The document invokes the Supreme Court’s own decisions, shattering any delusion that Trump can dodge accountability under the guise of “official presidential acts.” The argument boils down to this: if you’re actively working to undermine democracy, don’t be surprised when democracy bites back—hard.

The court filing strips Trump of his last vestiges of legal cover like a lawyer shredding a counterfeit diploma. Every line is a scalpel, carving away at his claim to immunity, revealing the naked emperor in all his flailing, delusional, insurrectionist glory.

This, my friend, is where “bigly” turns into “badly.” For Trump, the walls aren’t just closing in—they’re collapsing.
