Trump’s sentencing in New York has been delayed well after the election. Sentencing, “if necessary,” now set for November 26. Justice Merchan says he will issue a decision on Trump’s motion to toss his guilty verdicts based on presidential immunity on November 12. The decision by Justice Juan M. Merchan means voters will be left in the dark this November about whether the former president will face time behind bars. Trump sentencing in NY hush money case postponed until after election, Nov. 26. Means the 4 criminal cases against him will have had little practical impact on his campaign beyond pushing him off the trail for a few weeks in May.

The RTCI is a sample of reported crime data from hundreds of law enforcement agencies nationwide which mimics national crime trends with as little lag and the most accuracy possible. Crime statistics are inexact, but sampling agencies in this way is a proven method for accurately measuring trends while waiting for national crime estimates published each year. Standardizing the offenses collected and time periods measured from hundreds of agencies makes it possible to evaluate trends up or down as they develop.

Nearly 2,400 allegations of sexual abuse across hundreds of Ireland’s religious-run schools have been documented in a new report, marking the latest grim revelations to emerge from the country’s historic Church-State entanglement. The report, released Tuesday, documented 2,395 allegations of historical child sexual abuse, involving 884 alleged abusers in 308 schools across the country. Most of the allegations were reported from the records of 42 religious orders that currently run or previously ran schools in Ireland. The scope of the allegations ranges from 1927-2013. More than half the men accused – which include teachers and priests – have died, it said.
