Damus is a decentralized social media platform that runs on the Nostr protocol, which is popular with bitcoiners partly because most implementations of it support payments over the blockchain’s Lightning Network. (Nostr is an acronym for “notes and other stuff transmitted by relays.”)

How do I set up my Tips?
On iOS or Android, go to Edit Profile. Then tap Tips, which is off by default. You will be required to consent to our General Tipping policy to turn on Tips on your profile.
Once you have agreed to our General Tipping policy, you will be brought to the Tips settings screen. Toggle Allow tips to on and then choose the third-party service(s) you’d like to use. Add in your third-party service username(s). You will need to have at least one username entered for your Tips icon to appear on your Twitter profile.

It is outdated 19th century monetary technology in a digital world. The gold standard has already been tried and been found wanting. A gold standard always inevitably leads to massive centralization, as well as having to trust governments and central banks that they won’t print more money than they have gold to back it.
