with computer, internet and
health related security problems.
I’ve been online since 1991 and can tell you the net was never built with security in mind. Things were great back then: people were nice, the atmosphere was kind and folks were pursing knowledge and the potential of the net to make knowledge free in the world. This was a grand and noble experiment until commerce was allowed online around 1994 when security became an issue.
There is no such thing as internet or computer security.
Nothing is “secure” online.
Everything can be hacked.
SECURITY: We now know that states have superseded hackers as the internet’s apex predator!
Definition of Security – “The Person In Charge Of Being The House Illusionist”
“Like all rights and privileges, security is about power. Who gets it, who doles it out and what interests it protects.

MELTDOWN and SPECTRE U.S. government-backed body warned that the chips themselves need to be replaced to completely fix the problems. The flaws could allow an attacker to read sensitive data stored in the memory, like passwords, or look at what tabs someone has open on their computer.

So many people visited fact-checking website PolitiFact during the State of the Union, it crashed halfway through the speech because so many people were checking for the truth.
PolitiFact is a nonpartisan website run by reporters from the Tampa Bay Times, and going into the State of the Union, they fact-checked Trump 498 times, finding that only 4 percent of those statements were “true,” 33 percent were “false,” and 15 percent were “pants on fire.” When its servers crashed about 40 minutes into the State of the Union, PolitiFact kept going, just on Twitter. The site was only down about six minutes, and made it through the rest of the speech unscathed. Catherine Garcia

Find out just how easy it is to get your SSN
must register to look through this one Social Security Death Master File, free, sorted by birthday and by number. Dick Eastman runs this privately owned geneology website using a purchased copy of the Social Security Death Master File.
At 65 you are asked to interact with the government to set up your SSN & medicare accounts. My advice is DO NOT to do this online, but go down to their building and get it done there. Their computers are hardwired into the database. They aren’t going on the internet !!!! What’s good for the goose …..
Your own computer / web browser may not be secure enough to stop bots from seizing the info you are typing into the gov’t secure website and it all can be stolen.
Make sure you take care of deleting all that personal information about you that is in the all the public databases.
Start with https://www.spokeo.com/ – Get a free encrypted email from https://tutanota.com/ and use it for this purpose.
When done delete the account. You can always get another one again.People can and do buy this information and use it to get your SSN check before you do unless you have already signed up.
Remove Yourself from All Background Check Web Sites: A Master List
— A friend of mine got the letter from the gov’t telling him to register on line to have his SS check sent. He turned 70 and that is the law. He tried to use the website to complete the job but go too frustrated. It is a lousy user experience so he just blew it off. He never went to the office to get the job done either. Long story short: someone (or a bot) goes into a public database and sees he is 70 and for 10.oo buys all the info you need to file for his SSN account and gets his money AND then the gov’t sends a letter he reads asking how happy he must be now that he’s got a years worth of SS$ in his pocket. Only thing is he never got it and reports that so NOW he HAS TO GO IN to the office to file to get them to send him the money (we the tax payer just eats it) and by the time the paperwork goes through a totally different check for the next year was already sent to a different thief. !!! AGAIN
SO>>> DO NOT THINK YOU ARE ANY DIFFERENT!
>>> THIS CAN AND WILL HAPPEN TO YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY MONEY!!!!!!

Always guard yourself in the hospital from any machine connected to the internet / intranet and you.
Think to ask if they have had all the programs updated and asked if the hospital equipment was hacked.
This goes for anything they put into your body during surgery that is connected also like heart stuff.

RIP Medical Debt is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charity established in 2014 to locate, purchase and forgive unpaid and unpayable medical debt. Funded by small and large donations from people and organizations, RIP buys medical debt and then abolishes it.
RIP was founded to abolish medical debt for anyone in America, strangers helping strangers. We then began to forgive medical debt for veterans. As funding allows, we are evolving a capacity to forgive medical debt for communities, and eventually for individuals.
John Oliver live on HBO gave RIP $15 million in medical debt to forgive for 9,000 Americans! Watch the clip.
TV STATIONS JOIN THE MOVEMENT TO FORGIVE MEDICAL DEBT
- Are you struggling to pay your medical bills?
- Are debt collectors calling you day and night?
- Is keeping up with your medical bills putting a financial and emotional strain on you and your family?
- Are you taking on more credit card debt or seeking loans in order to pay your doctor or hospital bills?
- Do you avoid getting needed medical treatment because of unpaid medical debt?
- Is your credit rating being ruined by medical debt?
RIP might be able to help, IF…
Did you answer “yes” to any or all of the questions above? If RIP can somehow locate your debt in the database “portfolios” we access, and if we are able to buy that debt, then we might be able to help. Stringent financial standards must be met, and there is no guarantee a physician, hospital or other creditor will meet our terms for purchasing any debt we do locate.
Knowing the wait may be long and we can make no promises, if you think it’s worth a shot:

Who owns your medical records
In the past year, more than 100 million Americans have had their electronic medical records hacked from health systems. For example, this June, Banner Health in Phoenix had a breach of 3.7 million electronic medical records. Many hospitals throughout the country have been held hostage for their health information system by hackers and have had to pay ransom to regain control of their patients’ medical data.
Each one can be sold for $50. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act was written 20 years ago, when medical records were kept on paper, and is not applicable to the contemporary digital era. Moreover, the pervasive selling of our medical data is unchecked, with no legal protection. The massive hacking of health system data has not resulted in any new legislation to date or enforcement via established laws.

Best Hospitals “You need to pay attention to both cost and quality.”
The study Cross REFERENCE DOI link: The academic journal PLOS One, shows “there is considerable variation in outcomes that really matter to patients, from hospital to hospital, as well as region to region.
The study did not disclose which hospitals had which results. Under the terms of the agreement to receive the data, the researchers agreed to keep the identities of the hospitals confidential. While factors like the health and income of a hospital’s patients contribute to its performance, Dr. Rosenberg emphasized that a large part is played by factors like the skill of the physicians and nurses, the culture at the hospital and how they chose to treat a given illness. “There is this other half of the story,” he said.Hospitals that treated a high volume of cases were generally more successful than those that treated a low volume, but there were exceptions, Dr. Rosenberg said.

Hospital Billing Varies Wildly, Government Data Shows
A hospital in Livingston, N.J., charged $70,712 on average to implant a pacemaker, while a hospital in nearby Rahway, N.J., charged $101,945. In Saint Augustine, Fla., one hospital typically billed nearly $40,000 to remove a gallbladder using minimally invasive surgery, while one in Orange Park, Fla., charged $91,000. In one hospital in Dallas, the average bill for treating simple pneumonia was $14,610, while another there charged over $38,000. Data being released for the first time by the government on Wednesday shows that hospitals charge Medicare wildly differing amounts — sometimes 10 to 20 times what Medicare typically reimburses — for the same procedure, raising questions about how hospitals determine prices and why they differ so widely. The data for 3,300 hospitals, released by the federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, shows wide variations not only regionally but among hospitals in the same area or city.
